The bride, 32, and groom, 31, didn’t pick a theme for their wedding but wanted the day to feel “very Kansas City.” The couple, both lawyers who live in east Brookside, picked special details that felt important to them but let the expertise of their vendors determine the rest of the day. Their photographer, Alec Vanderboom , tagged along to the rehearsal dinner at Stockyard Brewery and pre-ceremony celebrations at Harry’s Bar and Tables, Union Station and the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the site of Jared’s proposal on Sept. 10, 2015. Proposal: Jessie called Jared on her way home from work. He said that she should check the dining room table and quickly hung up. Jessie found instructions that directed her to the Nelson and to ask for Mrs. Cecil Wade when she arrived.
