Surprise shutter of Austin venue leaves local couples in wedding hell

Inn at Wild Rose Hall Inn at Wild Rose Hall/ Facebook Many local couples have been left to cry in their buttercream after a popular Austin wedding venue announced it will shutter at the end of the month. The Inn at Wild Rose Hall , a sprawling ranch and event space in South Austin, is closing after the property was unexpectedly sold.  The Inn at Wild Rose Hall owner Morgan Daily Jackson took to Facebook to break the news. "Over the years I have turned almost all my profits back into making someone else’s property even more beautiful for each new year’s clients. It was naive, but I had faith it would be mine one day." Over the past few months, Daily Jackson said she submitted three offers to buy the property, but the owners chose not to take them.  Despite the setback, Daily Jackson said she is moving ahead with her own venue, Rambling Rose Ranch, on the 14 acres she owns next door to the Inn at Wild Rose Hall. "It will still be my creative art piece providing clients with a different experience surrounded by Hill Country beauty, yet close to downtown," she wrote. In an interview with  KXAN , Daily Jackson said she offered the 17 venue-less couples two options: host their wedding at her new (but unbuilt) venue, or receive their deposits back. Unfortunately for Daily Jackson, she says many of the couples asked for their money, forcing her to take out $19,000 in small business loans. "It’s about running my business in the way I’d like to be treated, and if I’d gone out and had this happen to me, I’d want my money back too," she told the news station.  For those couples who decided to move their big day to the Rambling Rose, Daily Jackson said she was "humbled" by their trust. "It’s a scary but exciting time.
